September Players of the Month By Region

South Region Ryan Hallisey Senior C

Ryan Hallisey is the cornerstone of Hingham Field Hockey—an exceptional athlete, leader, and teammate who continues to elevate those around her. A four-year starter at midfield, three-year league all-star, and two-year captain, Ryan embodies consistency, competitiveness, and class both on and off the field.

In Hingham’s recent 1–1 tie with Sandwich, Ryan made her mark once again—recording a goal and an assist while helping anchor a defensive corner unit that successfully stopped 17 of 18 corners. Her impact on both ends of the field is undeniable. Currently second on the team in scoring with 4 goals and 12 assists, Ryan’s playmaking and composure have been major contributors to Hingham’s outstanding 9–0–1 record.

Ryan’s leadership extends far beyond statistics. She leads by example—first to arrive at practice, last to leave, always setting the tone with her work ethic and humility. Despite her many accolades, she remains grounded and focused on team success. She fosters unity across all three program levels, ensuring every player feels valued, connected, and inspired to give their best.

Ryan Hallisey represents the very best of high school field hockey: skill, leadership, and heart. Her dedication, sportsmanship, and passion make her an outstanding choice for South Region Player of the Month.

Western Region Bella Gavron Junior Ca

Bella Gavron has been the driving force behind Smith Academy’s outstanding start to the season, leading her team to an impressive 8–1 record. A talented and composed junior captain, Bella sets the standard for effort, teamwork, and leadership every time she steps on the field.

With 6 goals and 7 assists on the season, Bella consistently makes her presence felt in the center of the field—directing play, distributing the ball with precision, and setting her teammates up for success. Her leadership and vision have been crucial to the team’s rhythm and offensive flow.

One of Bella’s most impactful moments came in the team’s comeback win over Amherst, when she netted the tying goal to make it 2–2—a spark that led Smith Academy to a thrilling 4–2 victory. Earlier in September, she recorded her second career hat trick in a dominant performance against Holyoke.

Beyond her statistics, Bella is a selfless and uplifting teammate who embodies what it means to be a leader. Her positivity, work ethic, and dedication make her an inspiration to those around her and a cornerstone of Smith Academy’s success this season.
